A lot of people travel during the Christmas season. This is the best time to do it because of all the breaks and ticket sales/discounts. Make sure you’re ready for your own trip by packing the essentials. Here are some we recommend bringing aside from the usual things like clothes, etc.

  1. Toiletry Bag

You have no idea how many people forget to pack this. Focusing only on clothes. A toiletry bag is essential. It has your wet wipes, core-less tissue, and even some emergency alcohol. You never know when you’ll need it.

  1. Travel Health Pack

This has all the medicines you might need. Anti-allergy medication, ibuprofen, pain relievers, thermometer, multivitamins, sunburn relief, mosquito repellant, motion sickness pills, eye drops, etc.

  1. Gadgets Bag (Waterproof)

Make sure this is waterproof by using either a Ziplock, Zippies, or a real waterproof gadget bag. This houses all your wires, chargers, headphones, etc. so make sure it is sealed shut.

  1. Comfort Kit

Depending on how far you’re traveling (and the mode of transport), you should pack some items that can help make the trip more comfortable. A simple neck pillow could suffice if it’s a short trip but sometimes having a blanket, books, magazines, games, chapstick, and even a travel journal or pen can make a huge difference.

  1. Important Travel Needs

House all your documents in one place. Ideally, in a smaller bag, you can place it in front of you at all times. Keep your passport, airline/bus tickets, IDs and some cash there. Include any reservation confirmations for the hotel or tour and important emergency contact information you may need.

  1. Travel Adapter

This one is something that’s easily overlooked. It may be just 1 item but it could be the most essential one on your list. Especially when traveling abroad. You never know when a country uses a certain type of plug, and you wouldn’t want to be one of those people who didn’t come prepared enough to have the right adapter. Imagine not being able to charge anything? Nightmare!

  1. Portable Hotspot

Yet another important item we think we should mention especially - portable wifi. Never panic on where to go by having wifi ready to use google maps. It also helps if you need to suddenly work on something for a client while you’re on the go. That way you don’t waste time looking for a place that has wifi.

There’s a lot more we didn’t mention but these essentials should be able to prepare you for what’s to come. No matter where you’re going this Christmas. Whatever happens, be prepared for anything and everything. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Have fun and get packin’!
