3 Guaranteed Ways to Land High-Paying Clients

These days, more people flock towards the freelance life to become their own bosses. This line of work is especially popular among millennials and younger generations because of the benefits of having your own freedom to plan your day and travel whenever you feel like it. And with the rise of websites like Upwork and Hubstaff, it’s becoming increasingly easier to find jobs that you can work-from-home.

However, with that, we see a lot of problems like freelancers undercharging their services to stay competitive in this growing market. Often, freelancers will spend so much time putting together a proposal for a client only to go back and forth and until ultimately accepting a lower rate. To make up for the lack of income, most freelancers settle with accepting several clients.

So, if you’re thinking of starting a life as a freelancer or if you have already struggled with what we just described, we consulted with a lot of successful freelancers out there and compiled 3 surefire ways to get higher paying clients for digital services (i.e. Graphic Design, Writing, etc.)

  1. Offer specialty packages.

Instead of just charging an hourly rate, try giving packages for your services by combining your skills together. Can you do both web design and writing? Try creating an option with fixed pricing depending on the combination of services you can offer. This eliminates having to go back and forth between clients with proposals and budgets.

  1. Solve your clients’ pain points.

It may take a bit more effort but creating a customized plan for each client by doing the research on their specific pain points might gain you an advantage over the rest because it shows you understand their company and their needs well. Try checking what aspects of their business they’re willing (or even desperate) to improve and if you can offer the perfect solution, you’ll be surprised with how much they are willing to pay to get rid of those pain points.

  1. Follow up with your leads.

Use your e-mail list and follow-up with them by sending specialty packages. Just because you finished a job with a client doesn’t mean they won’t want to avail of your services again, so send the occasional e-mail update or just ask them how they are and how you can be of service to them. You never know when they would be needing your help again but just haven’t thought of you yet. Giving them a gentle nudge by sending out e-mail updates could go a long way and would also make them feel like you care about their progress as a company personally.

BONUS: Get referrals.

If you already have clients on your repertoire, try asking them for referrals. 40% of digital-based businesses get new clients through referrals. Having your clients create a video or even written testimonials will help a lot. You can put it on your resume, website, or social media page. This entices new clients because they can already know about your services through clients that have already availed it.

Take care of your clientele and you'll surely reap the benefits of doing so. In the process, don't forget to take care of yourself by securing HMO for freelancers and more, with ALLCARE.
