With movement limited during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), many have resulted in buying most of their goods and essentials online. Here’s a quick rundown of some items online that can help you out in these trying times.

  1. Grocery Items

Online grocery shopping apps such as MetroMart can handle orders from Robinsons Supermarket, S&R, Pet Express, Watsons, FamilyMart, Baby Company, National Book Store, and Toy Kingdom. Slots are limited and deliveries may take more than their usual 2 hours window, but it’s a great alternative compared to going to the grocery yourself.

  1. Cooked Meals

Food delivery services such as GrabFood and FoodPanda are still operational and we have our frontline heroes to thank for that. Don’t forget to maybe give a generous tip or order a meal for your assigned driver like a small thanks for their continued service risking their safety to bring you your meals.

  1. Medicine

Online pharmacies such as MedGrocer and MedExpress offer a variety of prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, as well as medical supplies and devices.

Do note that MedGrocer is temporarily closed and will reopen April 13th!

  1. Fruits and Vegetables

If you want to help support the farmers from Baguio you can download the Session Groceries app and order veggies and fruits straight from the farmers themselves. The developers are dedicated to helping the farmers earn by cutting the middleman and selling straight to consumers instead.

  1. Vegan-friendly Food Items

Looking for some grass-fed, organic and naturally raised meats? Vegan-friendly shops such as the Green Grocer can also deliver artisan bread, cheese, organic eggs, and other fresh gourmet meats.

Do note that The Green Grocer has temporarily disabled cash on delivery due to community quarantine.  You may instead by credit card through Paypal. A 5% transaction fee is added to your total to cover Paypal charges.

  1. Pet Supplies

Those with pets know the struggle of making sure their furbabies get the proper care they need during this quarantine. Luckily, some pet stores like Pet Warehouse still accepts online orders and deliveries within Metro Manila. They offer fast and free shipping for all orders above 995. You can pay cash on delivery, credit card or PayPal!

  1. Korean BBQ

Yes, you read that right. Missing your regular KBBQ fix? A lot of Korean restaurants are open to serve you right in the comfort of your own home. Places like Sariwon, Soban, and Sibyullee. Yoshimeatsu, Yoos Korean Meat Grocery, Ye Dang, and last but not the least- Samgyup sa Bahay are some of the awesome brands that have decided to go the extra mile and being the KBBQ experience to you.

We should never forget that during these difficult times we should always help each other out. If you want to know how to donate and help your fellow kababayans, visit helpfromhome.org for more information. We’re in this together, let’s support each other in any way we can.
