As the pandemic continues to loom over us, it is safe to say that we all know hard it is to not go outside and live our normal lives. But have you ever wondered about how small business owners feel about the never-ending shift?

In the third installment of our series, we talked to Felix Veroya, Founder and CEO of Ask LEX PH Academy. Ask LEX PH Academy is a value-adding and consulting firm catering to everyone all over the world. They give training and seminars that help more people realize their potential and hone their skills.

Given their line of business, Felix and his team had a hard time adjusting when the pandemic started. “Just like other businesses, we were hit so hard by the pandemic. We have to disrupt the operations or basically cancel some of our engagements that were booked from March up until the end of the year. So we have to really transition and allocate our resources to things that really matter to the business so that we can still survive in times of this pandemic.”

As much as they want to help people, they, just like everyone, were forced to do everything in the comfort of their own homes. While this might sound like a nice thing to others, it’s not that simple for the whole Ask LEX team. In the interview, Felix said, “Given that we’re a training and consulting firm, we just need the resources like laptops and such to make it (working from home) happen. But in terms of technicalities, it’s a bit hard because we’re used to seeing each other when we are doing training and consulting with our clients.”

Adapting to the current situation is, indeed, a big change for the whole team. As anxiety became more evident within their team, choosing a healthcare and benefits provider easily rose to the top of their priority list-- and then they met ALLCARE. “I’ve been through some proposals (healthcare management provider) but our resource is not ready yet to avail those programs. It was, I think, a sponsored ad on Facebook that I came across ALLCARE. I’ve made an inquiry, and luckily, it matched our resources for the whole team, the small team that we have. And that’s where it began, and the rest is history.”

Believing that health is important and having a good health management plan are some of the things that will keep a business strong and going, just like Ask LEX PH. It doesn’t just keep and make everyone healthy, it also boosts the employees’ morale that will, in turn, make them more productive and have a positive effect on everything.

We will not get tired of reminding everyone to stay at home as much as you can and stay safe! We will win this fight together!
